Cross Country team

The Kulshan Cross Country team rests on Galbraith Mountain after a run, looking out over Bellingham Bay.

Is your middle schooler looking for a way to get some extra energy out?  This is the season!  We offer three sports and it historically is our biggest sports season.  We have 6th, 7th, and 8th graders participating in Cross Country, 7th and 8th grade girls in Basketball, and 7th and 8th grade boys & girls in Football.  With almost 200 students participating in these sports, it is a celebration of student engagement and teamwork!

Our district middle school philosophy is to engage all students in clubs and sports.  Our coaches believe that all students, regardless of ability, are valuable team members on our teams.  There are no try outs, and activities focus on participation, not competition.  Middle school is a great time for students to play.

Our district is also committed to accessibility, regardless of financial situation.  There are no registration fees for students.  We do ask students to pay $10 for the year for an ASB card.  While most of the sports gear is provided, some items may need to be purchased.  But as we say with all of our activities, if your family needs support in order for your student to participate, just let us know.  We have community funds that provide sports gear and ASB fees to our students.  As a community, we are passionate about including all students in our programs.

It’s not too late to sign up!  We would love to see you on our team.

With Thunderbird Pride,

Meagan Dawson
